Holi celebrated with enthusiasm and energy in Telangana

Holi, the festival of colours, was celebrated with traditional fervour and gaiety in Telangana on Friday. The festival, symbolising the victory of good over evil and heralding the advent of spring, brought vibrant scenes in Hyderabad, its twin city Secunderabad, and other regions of the state.

Celebrators smeared each other with colours and gulal, accompanied by songs, dances, and drum beats. In many areas, people burnt effigies of Holika, symbolising the victory of good over evil, and sister of the demon king Hiranyakashyap, marking the beginning of the Holi festivities. Shops selling gulal and other colours saw brisk sales, and people enthusiastically bought items for the festivities. Telangana Governor Jishnu Dev Varma and Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy extended warm greetings to the people of the state on the auspicious occasion of Holi.
