Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed the Maha Kumbh held at the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj as a symbol of India's unity and national consciousness. In his speech, he expressed gratitude for its successful organization and emphasized the power of unity and tradition, highlighting the importance of faith, devotion, and collective effort in strengthening the nation.

Modi: Maha Kumbh is a symbol of unity in diversity

Prime Minister Narendra Modi described the Maha Kumbh held at the Triveni Sangam of Ganga, Yamuna, and invisible Saraswati in Prayagraj as a vision of the great form of India. It was a great demonstration of the power of unity in the times of disunity in the whole world, which we have to continuously strengthen.

Modi expressed gratitude for organizing the Maha Kumbh

Modi gave a speech on the Maha Kumbh in the Lok Sabha on Tuesday and thanked all those involved in its successful organisation. He said, “Today, through this House, I bow down to crores of countrymen, because of whom Maha Kumbh was organised successfully. Many people have contributed to the success of Maha Kumbh. I congratulate the government, the society, all the Karmayogis. I thank the devotees from all over the country, the people of Uttar Pradesh, especially the people of Prayagraj.”

Vision of the vast form of India in the form of Maha Kumbh

He said that everyone knows that a herculean effort was made to bring Ganga ji to earth. We have seen the same great effort in the grand event of this Maha Kumbh. I had emphasized the importance of Sabka Prayas from the Red Fort. The whole world saw the great form of India in the form of Maha Kumbh. This is the true form of Sabka Prayas. This was a Maha Kumbh of the people, for the resolutions of the people, inspired by the faith of the people.
Shri Modi said that in the Maha Kumbh we have seen the great awakening of our national consciousness. This national consciousness, which takes the nation towards new resolutions, inspires the accomplishment of new resolutions. The Maha Kumbh has also given a befitting reply to those doubts and apprehensions, which some people have in their minds about our capabilities.
He said that last year in the Ram Mandir Prana Pratishtha ceremony of Ayodhya, we all felt how the country is getting ready for the next 1000 years. Exactly one year after this, the organisation of Maha Kumbh has strengthened this thought in all of us. This collective consciousness of the country shows the strength of the country.

An important milestone in Prayagraj Maha Kumbh

He said, “In the life of any nation, in the history of human life, there are many such turning points which become examples for centuries, for the coming generations. There have been such moments in the history of our country too, which gave a new direction to the country, shook the country and awakened it. For example, during the period of the Bhakti movement, we saw how spiritual consciousness emerged in every corner of the country. The speech given by Swami Vivekananda ji in Chicago a century ago was a proclamation of India's spiritual consciousness, it awakened the self-respect of Indians. There have been many such stages in our freedom movement too. Be it the freedom struggle of 1857, the time of Veer Bhagat Singh's martyrdom, Netaji Subhash Babu's proclamation of Delhi Chalo, Gandhi ji's Dandi March, India achieved independence by getting inspiration from such stages. I also see Prayagraj Maha Kumbh as one such important stage, in which the reflection of the awakening country is seen.”

The enthusiasm of Maha Kumbh in India for one and a half months

The Prime Minister said, “We saw the enthusiasm of Maha Kumbh in India for about one and a half months, experienced the excitement. It is our biggest strength how crores of devotees, rising above the worries of convenience and inconvenience, came together with devotion. But this enthusiasm was not limited to this only. Last week I was in Mauritius, and I had taken the holy water of Maha Kumbh from Triveni, Prayagraj. When that holy water was offered in the Ganga pond of Mauritius, the atmosphere of devotion, faith, and celebration there was worth seeing. This shows how strong the feeling of assimilating our tradition, our culture, and our sanskars, celebrating them is becoming today.”

Stay connected with Maha Kumbh with devotion

He said, “I am also seeing how smoothly our traditions are being passed on from generation to generation. You see, our modern young generation has been associated with Maha Kumbh and other festivals with so much reverence. Today, the youth of India is embracing its tradition, its faith, and its devotion with pride.”
The Prime Minister said that when a society's feelings of pride in its heritage increase, we see such grand and inspiring pictures, which we have seen during Maha Kumbh. This increases mutual brotherhood, and confidence increases that as a country we can achieve big goals. This feeling of connecting with our traditions, our faith, and our heritage is a great asset of today's India.

Many Amrits came out from Maha Kumbh

Shri Modi said that many Amrits have emerged from Maha Kumbh, the Amrit of unity is its very sacred Prasad. Maha Kumbh was such an event in which people from every region, every corner of the country became one, people abandoned their ego and gathered in Prayagraj with the feeling of 'we', not 'I'. People from different states came and became a part of the holy Triveni. When crores of people from different regions strengthen the feeling of nationalism, the unity of the country increases. When people speaking different languages and dialects chant Har Har Gange on the banks of Sangam, a glimpse of 'Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat' is seen, the feeling of unity increases. In Maha Kumbh, we have seen that there was no difference between big and small, this is a great strength of India. It shows that the wonderful element of unity is ingrained within us. The strength of our unity is so much that it breaks all the efforts to divide us.

He said, “This feeling of unity is a great fortune for Indians. In the conditions of disunity in the world today, this huge display of unity is our biggest strength. Unity in diversity is the specialty of India, we have always said this, we have always felt this and we have experienced its huge form in the Prayagraj Maha Kumbh. It is our responsibility to keep enriching this specialty of unity in diversity.”

Shri Modi said, “We have also got many inspirations from the Maha Kumbh. There are so many small and big rivers in our country, there are many rivers which are also facing a crisis. Taking inspiration from the Kumbh, we will have to give a new expansion to the tradition of river festivals, we must think about this, this will make the present generation understand the importance of water, cleanliness of rivers will be strengthened, and rivers will be protected. We believe that the nectar coming out of the Maha Kumbh will become a very strong medium for the success of our resolutions.”
