Motorcyclist dies after collision with van in east Las Vegas

A motorcyclist died Wednesday evening aft a collision with a van successful eastbound Las Vegas, constabulary said.

A Chevy van and a motorcycle collided astatine astir 7:30 p.m. adjacent the intersection of East Tropicana Avenue and Spencer Street, Metropolitan Police Department Lt. Dustin Butler said.

Medical unit pronounced the motorcyclist dormant astatine the scene.

Officers closed the intersection, and fatal detectives were called to respond. The intersection was expected to beryllium closed for respective hours, according to Butler.

The motorcyclist was carrying a weapon erstwhile the collision occurred, Butler said. The operator of the van remained astatine the scene, and it was chartless whether impairment contributed to the crash. There were nary different passengers successful the van, according to Butler.
